01 / Overview
Key Features
→ v4 UpdatesXMTF Trends v4 adds Failed 2-Down and Failed 2-Up signals to the TFC row. A Failed-2D bar (breaks prior low but closes above it) now votes bullish in the TFC composite even if the candle closes red. Same logic inverted for Failed-2U. This improves detection of reversal setups within the conviction framework.
MTF Conviction Score
A composite score from -100% to +100% across all enabled timeframes. Positive = bullish conviction. Negative = bearish. Near zero = chop.
TFC Row (with F2D/F2U)
Trend-Following Candle check per TF. Now includes Failed 2-Down (bullish reversal) and Failed 2-Up (bearish reversal) in the composite vote.
Lorentzian Kernel
Non-parametric trend detection using a Lorentzian distance kernel. Provides a smooth trend bias that is resistant to short-term noise.
sXc EMA Cross
Golden Cross (fast EMA > slow EMA) votes bullish. Death Cross votes bearish. Configurable fast/slow EMA periods.
ATR Display
Average True Range for each enabled timeframe. Shows how much each TF typically moves — essential context for option target selection.
Bullish vs Bearish Days
Count of bullish and bearish sessions across the lookback window. Trend persistence indicator.
sX Cloud Integration
Optional sX Cloud timeframe settings for cloud-based bias. Configurable per row.
LVL Setup
Define custom price levels to track against each timeframe. Used for advanced STRAT level monitoring.
Full Table Customization
7 color inputs, font sizes, placement, and row visibility toggles.

How It Works
01
Select Timeframes
Configure which timeframes appear in the table. Each enabled TF gets its own row. You control which metrics appear per row.
02
TFC Calculation (Updated v4)
For each TF, TFC checks: is the candle green (bullish) or red (bearish)? In v4, Failed 2-Down bars vote +1 even if they close red (reversal is bullish). Failed 2-Up bars vote -1 even if they close green. All non-zero votes must agree for the TFC composite to be directional.
03
sXc EMA Cross
For each TF, the fast EMA and slow EMA are compared. Fast > Slow = Golden Cross (+1). Slow > Fast = Death Cross (-1). Mixed across TFs = 0 (no direction).
04
Lorentzian Kernel
A kernel regression using Lorentzian distance calculates a smooth trend line. When price is above the kernel, the vote is bullish. When below, bearish.
05
Score Calculation
The Score aggregates all enabled votes (TFC, sXc, Lorentzian, others) across all enabled timeframes. The percentage reflects how many of the total possible votes are bullish vs bearish.
06
Reading the Score
Lean = 25%+ (trade with caution, smaller size). Strong = 50%+ (standard conviction). Super = 75%+ (highest conviction, press). Neutral = near 0% (stand down, wait).
→ Score InterpretationLean (25%+): Caution, smaller size. Strong (50%+): Standard trade setup. Super (75%+): Highest conviction, you can press. Neutral (near 0%): Mixed signals. Stand down.

Reading the Table
Score Values
| Setting | Default | Range | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| 75%+ (Super) | → Highest conviction. Press harder. All or most TFs agree strongly. | ||
| 50–74% (Strong) | → Standard setup. Take the trade at normal size. | ||
| 25–49% (Lean) | → Trade with caution. Reduce size. Some disagreement between TFs. | ||
| 0–24% (Neutral) | → Stand down. Too mixed. Wait for clearer alignment. | ||
| Negative | → Bearish bias. Direction reversed. Apply same thresholds to the downside. |
TFC Cell Colors
| Setting | Default | Range | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Green cell | Bullish TFC on that timeframe. Candle closed above its open OR was a Failed 2-Down. | ||
| Red cell | Bearish TFC. Candle closed below its open OR was a Failed 2-Up. | ||
| Gray cell | No clear signal or TFC not applicable for this TF. |

Pro Tips
Never Trade a Neutral Score
A Score near 0% means the timeframes are in conflict. Even a perfect Radar signal fails in chop. If the Score is Neutral, walk away and wait for the next setup.
Use F2D/F2U for Reversals
The v4 update means a Failed 2-Down bar — which looks red on the chart but is actually a bullish reversal — now correctly votes bullish in the TFC. This improves Score accuracy on reversal setups.
ATR for Options Targeting
Before picking a strike, look at the Daily ATR value in the table. If ATR is $4 and your TP1 requires a $6 move, reconsider. ATR tells you what a normal move looks like on each TF.
Run on Every Chart Regardless of Strategy
sXMTF Trends is not strategy-specific. Whether you trade STRAT patterns, ORB, BF channels, or custom setups, the Score is always relevant as a filter.
Match Score Threshold to Your Style
Scalpers need Super (75%+). Day traders can go with Strong (50%+). Swing traders can trade Lean (25%+) but with reduced position size.

→ sXSuite IntegrationsXMTF Trends is the confirmation phase of the formula. sXRadar finds the signal. MTF Trends tells you if the bigger picture agrees. If it does, proceed to sX SBox for the trade map. If the Score is Neutral, there is no trade regardless of how clean the Radar signal looks.
