01 / Overview
Key Features
15 Sectors, 2 Horizons
Tracks all 15 SPDR sector ETFs (fully customizable) across two independent rotation timeframes simultaneously — Day and Swing by default.
Composite Rotation Score
A multi-factor score combining relative strength, RSI momentum, ROC, MA position, volume trend, and OBV slope. Higher score = stronger rotation into the sector.
Rotation Horizons Table
The primary view. Shows each sector's composite score for both horizons side by side. Color-coded green (strong) to red (weak).
Detail Table
Optional expanded view showing individual metric columns (RS%, RSI, ROC%, MA%, Vol×, OBV) for a chosen horizon.
Summary & Recommendations
Identifies the top 2–3 leading sectors and bottom 2–3 lagging sectors based on the composite score. Quick directional read.
Bar Close Countdown
Optional built-in countdown showing when each rotation horizon's bar closes. Integrated directly into the table.
Sortable
Sort the table by either horizon's Score, or by individual metric columns in the Detail Table.
Full Color Customization
7 independent color inputs matching the sXSuite palette. Configurable font sizes for header, body, and summary rows.
02 / Concept
How It Works
→ Why Sector Rotation Matters
Trade WITH the Institutional Flow
Institutional money moves in and out of sectors based on macro themes, earnings cycles, and rate expectations. When technology is seeing consistent inflows and energy is seeing outflows, individual tech stocks rise with the tide while energy stocks fight it. sXSectors makes that rotation visible in real time across all 15 sectors.
01
Fetch Sector Data
For each of 15 sectors, two request.security() calls fetch OHLC and volume data for both configured horizon timeframes. Total: 30 data calls + 6 bar-close calls = 36 calls. Within TradingView's 40-call limit on all plans.
02
Calculate Individual Metrics
For each sector and each horizon: RS% (relative strength vs SPY), RSI, ROC%, MA% (price vs moving average), Vol× (volume vs MA), and OBV slope. Each metric is scored on a relative basis within the sector universe.
03
Compute Composite Score
The composite score combines all enabled metrics into a single ranking number. The relative weight of each metric is equal by default. Sectors are ranked 1–15 by composite score.
04
Horizons Table
The main display shows both horizons (e.g. Day and Swing) side by side for all 15 sectors, sorted by the selected Sort By horizon's score.
05
Detail Table (Optional)
When Show Detail Table is ON, an expanded view shows individual metric columns for one selected horizon. Useful for drilling into why a sector ranks high or low.
06
Summary (Optional)
When Show Summary is ON, a condensed recommendation block shows the top leaders and bottom laggards with their scores. Quick pre-trade context.
→ Data BudgetsXSectors uses 36 of TradingView's 40 security() calls. This leaves 4 slots available for other indicators. If running alongside indicators that also use many calls, keep that budget in mind.

Reading the Table
Horizons Table Columns
| Setting | Default | Range | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sector | The sector name. | ||
| Day Score (TF1) | Composite rotation score for the first horizon. Higher = more institutional inflow on this horizon. | ||
| Swing Score (TF2) | Composite rotation score for the second horizon. Primary sort column by default. | ||
| Color Coding | Green cells = top-ranked sectors. Red cells = bottom-ranked. The depth of color reflects the rank within the 15-sector universe. |
Detail Table Columns (when enabled)
| Setting | Default | Range | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| RS % | Relative strength vs SPY over the lookback period. Positive = outperforming. | ||
| RSI | 14-period RSI on the selected horizon timeframe. Above 60 = momentum. Below 40 = weakness. | ||
| ROC % | Rate of Change over the ROC length. Measures the velocity of sector movement. | ||
| MA % | Price distance from the moving average as a percentage. Positive = above MA (bullish). | ||
| Vol × | Volume multiplier vs the Volume MA. Above 1.5× = elevated activity. | ||

Pro Tips
Use Both Horizons for Conviction
A sector ranked 1st on both Day and Swing is the highest-conviction rotation play. A sector ranked 1st on Day but 10th on Swing is a short-term pop, not a sustained rotation.
The Summary Block Is Your Morning Brief
Enable Summary & Recommendations. Before trading, read the top 2 sectors and bottom 2 sectors. Build your watchlist from tickers in the leading sectors only.
Trade WITH Rotation, Not Against It
If a sector is ranked 14th on both horizons, individual stock setups in that sector are fighting an outflow tide. Even perfect STRAT signals in lagging sectors underperform. Stick to the top 3.
Vol × Is the Early Warning Signal
Volume is a leading indicator of rotation. When a sector shows a 2–3× volume multiplier but hasn't yet moved to the top of the Score ranking, that is an early rotation signal — institutional money is moving in before price.
Pair with sXPreMarket
sXPreMarket shows the gap-based rotation before the open. sXSectors shows the sustained intraday and swing rotation once the market opens. They measure the same thing on different timescales. Strong agreement between both = highest conviction.

→ sXSuite IntegrationsXSectors and sXPreMarket together form the sector intelligence layer of the sXSuite. Pre-market: use sXPreMarket to find the morning's gap leaders. Intraday: use sXSectors to see whether those leaders are sustaining rotation throughout the session. Then use sXRadar to find specific STRAT setups within the leading sectors.
